Lead Pastor

Agape Church on the Atlantic Coast in St. Mary’s, Georgia, is prayerfully seeking the Spirit-led Lead Pastor whom God has chosen to lead our multicultural, multigenerational, faithful, and loving congregation into the next season of its 40-year history.

While we are waiting, we are ministering to those who call Agape their church home and to those in our growing community yet to know God’s Agape love. We remain eager and ready to make disciples for Christ while continuing to equip families in our growing church.

Agape is a Spirit-Led, Christian Charismatic, non-denominational Church, searching for a Lead Pastor who is committed to equipping the saints in our faith community for the work of ministry through preaching that is relevant, inspiring, relational and loving.  We are a debt free church with a six-member Elder Board and a staff that includes a full-time Executive Pastor and Administrative Assistant, a part-time Worship Leader, Children’s Ministry Leader, and Media Coordinator who are all courageous followers of the Holy Spirit searching out unique ways to reach and share God’s love to those in Southeast Georgia and in the global ministries we support.

Our growing Congregation of 400 wants a Lead Pastor who:

• Preaches Biblically based messages with applications for our congregation
• Participates in developing new ministries to reach people where they currently are in life
• Boldly ministers to all with compassion, enthusiasm, and a good measure of humor

Characteristics of our Lead Pastor

Fundamental Qualities

• Dependent on the Holy Spirit, enjoying a growing relationship with Jesus
• Loving Shephard of the congregation and eager to minister to the lost
• Is studious, curious, and eager to learn
• Is above reproach and self-controlled, living a life of integrity and faithfulness to God, Wife, Family and Congregation 

Leadership Abilities

• Bold Leader who motivates Agape Church to live out our vision and mission
• Capable of casting a Spirit-led vision to the staff and congregation and flexible enough to change direction as the Holy Spirit leads
• Values ministry leaders by setting and monitoring uniquely achievable goals
• Has integrity and dependability to deliver on promises and commitments 

Key Ministry Elements

• Creates God inspired, biblically based, culturally relevant sermons delivered with love and humility
• Recognizes and leads the congregation in the movement of the Holy Spirit during the worship and church services
• Eagerly embraces outreach ministries by supporting current initiatives and leading with new methods of evangelism
• Seeks to build relationships with other churches and ministries in our community

Professional Qualifications

• An ordained or licensed minister in a like-minded Spirit-led ministry is preferred
• A bachelors degree in a ministry discipline is preferred
• Three or more years of experience in a pastoral leadership role is preferred
• Loves God and Loves People compassionately and enthusiastically is a must
